Fun with wacky conservatives.

Thanks to Al Gore winning the Nobel Peach Prize, this evening I'll probably have to endure some tirade lifted verbatim from Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter on how Global Warming is a trick perpetuated on the masses, that it's part of the normal planetary cycle and we can't do anything about it, etc.

As the person most likely to tell me these things is a papist, I'll then have to excommunicate him for going against the pope, who, at least on this issue, agrees with Gore.

Why they don't cast me.

My third, or maybe fourth, role in A Christmas Carol is that of a lamplighter, one of two who discuss Scrooge's death during the Christmas Future Perfect scene. The temptation to alter dialogue is hard to resist, especially as I'm likely to be playing the scene Cockney (although nobody else seems to be using an accent, so I may drop it altogether):
Sadly, proper script modification requires accomplices... )

To the ladies in their million dollar boots...

It's not really my thing (outside of an admiration of their bravado), but I think some of the folks on my friendslist might find an appreciation for Lord T and Eloise, local practitioners of the fine art form known as "Aristocrunk." Their first album (also called "Aristocrunk") features both Al Kapone and Kallen Esperian, and is a good deal less foppish and more crunk than Cox and Combes; but then not everyone can be Brad Neely.

In a clever bit of cross-genre promotion, they're having a concert tonight in conjunction with Opera Memphis' production of Turandot.
