Project: New Dining Room Floor
Status: Complete
Skills required: Heavy lifting, scrubbing, additional heavy lifting, additional scrubbing, more heavy lifting, mixing, measuring, cutting, crawling, cursing, scrubbing, cursing, aching, crawling, scrubbing, aching, spraying, scrubbing.
Things I had to run back to the hardware store to get: More mortar, a tile cutter because the tile saw my ex-wife let me borrow was a piece of shit, sealer.
Number of assistants: One (Thanks, Erica!)
Start-to-finish-time: Four weekends, really. It could have been done in one with better planning and an unbridled devotion to the work.
Number of dead cats when I figure out who decided to go on the new floor before it got sealed: None, but you have NO IDEA how angry I am about that.
Beer consumed, total: A gallon, probably.
Feeling of manly/husbandly satisfaction: Meh. Redecorating projects don't give me the same feeling of accomplishment as "This was broken, and now it's not" projects.
