Because 1. A real-life friend suggested it, and 2. It was $20, I went ahead an bought City of Heroes to try. It's installed, and updating, and I should be ready to go in...let's see...40 hours and 19 minutes. The week of fucking downloads (I don't leave the computer on when I'm not at home, as the children have a habit of surfing for the most virusy viruses on the planet when left unattended) would have been nice to know about before I set up my user account.

It sped up when I took it off the wireless network (that my daughter was using) and plugged in an ethernet cable. Played for a few hours last night--it's fun, but doesn't seem to have the depth of WoW. I found myself wanting to go fishing in Prometheus Park.
