Wooo!!! Final Four!!!

My Final Four tickets arrived today. I checked out the view from the Georgia Dome website, and this is what I'll be looking forward to:

You'll notice that it's a picture of a football field. That's because they don't sell these seats for regular-season basketball games, as the game will be played in the far end zone. Best I can tell, I'll be sitting some 250 yards from the half-court line, if you count the elevation change. You can't even read the ten-foot high letters that I presume spell out "FALCONS" from these seats.

Fuck. I'm wondering what shitty seats go for on eBay?

WOW!

Don't yah think tht maybe they'll play somewhere nearer the middle? I'm guessing that this is the GA DOME (there aren't any other FALCONS, right?). At least you have a free place to stay.

Trust me...those will sell for a lot.

And if I wasn't short on cash, I'd buy those from you. Now. :-P

Back in 1990 Georgia Tech went to the final four for the first time in forever, and at 19 I caught their elite eight game in New Orleans at the Superdome. I'd made it home to Mobile a couple of days before and just drove over, paid a scalper something like $35 for a ticket outside the stadium, and watched an awesome game from pretty good seats. When we won, I was heady from the screaming and very nearly passed out (my passing out has customarily been accomplished by either extreme fatigue or alcohol consumption or both).

Nobody in the Superdome had seats that were nearly as lousy as these are, as they set the court up on the 50-yard line. Even if you were on the back row of the nosebleed section, you were still had a pretty good view of the game. But it looks like they're going for $400 apiece at scalping sites.
