Aug. 8th, 2007 01:48 pmLeaving work yesterday the thermometer in the car read 107°, but I didn't turn on the A/C because it burns extra gas and harms the planet. Just kidding! Today it's supposed to hit 101° (a mere 9 degrees colder than Death Valley, with only 30% more humidity!), and Friday's high is supposed to be 104°, to which you can add another 10 degrees from sitting in the sun.
We're having trouble getting folks to make it to Taming of the Shrew rehearsals, but they've managed to get the show tenatively cast as of last night. The final piece of the puzzle was old Vincentio, who's being played by an "actor," who must have had a degree in melodrama, as he reads his lines like Spanky reciting "Friends, Romans, Countrymen." It makes you wish you had rocks to throw.
