You remember a couple of weeks ago when I asked for advice on handlebar mustaches, and the only advice I got was from ladies about using earwax? Well, I'll have you know I didn't take it, and this is the result.

Since I'm including photos, I should note that Wal-Mart had scuppernongs in the produce department:

For those of you who aren't southern, scuppernongs are a native variety of southern grape with an exceptionally thick skin. My grandparents grew them, and muscadines in their (rather large) backyards--they make excellent jellies and wine, but as a child I would go out under the vines (which were covered with a net to keep the birds out) and eat myself sick. Today, the flavor that brings out that memory comes at $4 a container at Wal-Mart. Or potentially the farmer's market, if I could ever make it to the farmer's market.
