A month and a half ago I asked the HR person at work what the company did around Christmas as far as holidays, etc., as I hadn't received a schedule of days off or the like. She told me that because they were a Christian company, they got Christmas and Christmas Eve off. I told her that at the _agnostic companies I used to work for we usually got the whole week. In any case, I'll take a couple of personal days to fill in the gap, as they kinda screwed me out of my vacation by making a different written offer than what was discussed during the interview.

Because I'm doing A Christmas Carol this year, I'm going to have to miss the company Christmas party. They usually hold it at a hotel near the facility and because they're a Christian company there's no drinking. Also we're supposed to bring a toy for a 10-12 year old child, to be donated to a needy family. I have no problem with that, but they told us that we were supposed to include a note with a favorite bible verse about giving on it, and I immediately had one spring to mind:

MATTHEW 6:
²"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. ³But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

I don't think that's what they intended.
