[Poll #1152523]

I ask because there's 80-odd folks on my friendslist, five of whom occasionally share stuff on Google Reader. Where are the rest of you? I want a hive mind!

Edit: There seem to a a high proportion of "huh?" answers to the second question, so I'll provide an example. If I'm reading, say, this entry about converting David Lee Roth's vocal track on "Runnin' With The Devil" to be sung along with Vangelis' "Chariots of Fire", and I think to myself that maybe other people would be interested in hearing what that sounds like, I can click on an icon and it will automatically show up in everyone else's readers, as well. Ordinarily I'd be stuck putting a blog post or starting a thread somewhere to say "Hey! Look at this!" but clicking the "share" icon is way easier.

You may be setting a good example for others!

Indeed. Definitely not "in" on the whole reader thing. I've got a couple of things (like slumbering lungfish) on my LJ friendspage (and I'm not even sure how that relates to what you're talking about), but otherwise I just visit whichever bookmarks I'm in the mood for. My husband tells me I should get a google homepage, but I haven't gotten around to looking into it.

You obviously already know that I use Google Reader and share stuff. But, the power of polls compels me!

Subscribing to RSS feeds on your LJ friends page is sorta "other." I've gotten rather spoiled on the ability to recommend cool things to other folks with one click, however (also, Reader has a really sweet iPhone and iPod touch-specific application, which makes it great for device junkies).

I am open to this idea, but I have not taken the time to figure it out yet. Do you also use google reader for LJ updates?

True, but there are folks who use for whom I don't have email addresses, who could be sharing EVEN MORE STUFF!

I do, but only for certain friends because of two things:

1. I don't necessarily want every LJ post that comes in here to be pushed to my home page or phone, and
2. Reader doesn't pick up friendslocked posts.

I think those of us who use it really like it, but I also know some folks who tried it, decided it wasn't for them, and left. At least I think that's the case.

Feel free to share with me (and I'll do the same if you'd like). Same ID on Google.
