We appear to have locked up a spot in the finals (on November 4, instead of the October 28, so I can still go see Hodgman & Coulton in Oxford and possibly elsewhere) by placing second last night. Also, it keeps me in the clear for missing next week's tourney to go see David Sedaris.

What's a six-letter word ending in "Z" that means artifical or fake?
Name the patron saints of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales (we missed Wales)
What was Charles Bronson's occupation in Deathwish? (Not Vigilante)
One question we could have gotten double points for if we'd gotten the date exactly right:
What year did Monty Python's Flying Circus debut on the BBC?
As you can see, "Backstreet Boys" is not the correct answer to any of these questions, although it's a semi-plausible answer to one of them. ("BSTBYZ")
