The usual Wikipedia roundabout led me to the page for the bit part actor Chris Ellis, who I'd not really heard of until he came to see Measure for Measure a couple of years ago. Take a moment to check out the entry, which I think (based on its repetition elsewhere online) his official bio.
Okay, did you take note of the second paragraph, where Ellis is allegedly arrested for fishing without a license and decides to become an actor? At age 12?
Make note of the name of the arresting officer, "Terry Keeter." I met a Terry Keeter once, who had been a reporter for the Commercial Appeal before having to retire because of emphysema (it killed him a couple of years ago), who was a long time writer for the Memphis Gridiron Show (which is how I met him--Look! Me, nearly ten years ago! I'm the second guy from the left!).
A search for "Terry Keeter" reveals mainly the newspaperman, and links to Chris Ellis' various biographies. A search for Keeter's alleged partner, "Lekk Hopper" reveals nothing but CE biographies. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Ellis and Keeter (the reporter) knew one another. Theories?

Department of things that are broken:
Jan. 19th, 2008 03:47 pmLaptop power connection has finally gone. Still under warranty so the repair's covered, but it means my internet will be via work and iPhone for a week or two. Just another of life's wonderful hassles.
And to think Mrs. Cwabs thought I was being unreasonable when I wouldn't let her borrow the computer to watch a movie last night.
