Tired of bullet points?
Nov. 18th, 2008 03:01 pmSunday evening I auditioned for The Play's The Thing, a P.G. Wodehouse joint. It would have been a fun bit of entertainment next March-April, had I been cast, but unfortunately, I didn't. At least according to the facebook message I got from the director. I also have not heard results from the auditions for The Violet Hour a week ago; they said we would have results as of yesterday, so yesterday's passing would seem to indicate that I'm not in that, either. Perhaps my empty rehearsal schedule means I can make it to Jazzfest next year.
That's not to say my schedule's completely empty. I had plans to head to Oxford Thursday after work to see John Hodgman and Roy Blount, Jr., but got a call yesterday asking if I'd play Odin and Svadilfare in a hastily-assembled audio production which will be recording at the same time as the Hodgman reading. So no Hodgman, but I do get to perform some auditory horse-fucking.

I'm still trying to figure out innovative ways to use daytum. There's the fun bit where you can create graphs and charts of completely useless information, and the other fun bit where you can direct message it through Twitter with data and it will keep a running tally of things. I'm logging what I have for lunch at the moment, which is kinda a default option, but worth testing. I guess you could use it to keep track of miles run or calories burned, or consumed, or money spent, or any numerical thing you like. Daytum claims to be "social" although I don't get that aspect of it (yes, you can look at my page, but there's no way I see to subscribe to it, or even locate your friends pages unless you know precisely where they are. Nevertheless, I think it would be cool to see what some folks who are more creative than I am might come up with; let me know if you're using it and how to find you if you are.

Today Mrs. Cwabs is supposed to be selling her car, so that she might avoid having a large car payment, and buying a car with lower gas mileage and a lower price tag. Which will be fine for her until the price of gas goes back up. Not my problem, I guess. I worry about the financial situation she's left me in sometimes, but then I remember that she had no hesitation in dropping $50 for a single karaoke track or $60 for the rights to a picture for a show, and I'll never be on the hook for those ever again.
