fancycwabsSince I posted anything to the ol' Livejournal, so I thought I'd give an update.
Rehearsals for Measure for Measure start tomorrow: I'm playing Pompey, the clown/bawd/pimp/assistant executioner. Theatre Memphis (flash required), most of February/March. The caliber of the cast is kind of intimidating: I believe every single cast member is also a director (myself included), down to the spear carriers.
Amy's approaching the end of her rehearsals for Steel Magnolias. I haven't attended any rehearsals, but I understand that it's an unpleasant experience, with the director sitting in a chair reading along in the script the entire time, and offering no instruction whatsoever (or completely misguided instruction). Still, it ought to be okay in spite of these things, as the cast of Southern Ladies really wants to do a good show of it.
Installed Oasis on the machine this morning and played through the tutorial. This looks like it might be a complete waste of time. In the good way.
In the validation department, I was anonymously referenced in a restaurant review in the Commecial Appeal, stating that a local cheesesteak shop didn't use authentic Cheeze Whiz on their sandwiches. The owner of the establishment was questioned, and admitted that the substance they used on their sandwiches was in fact vile cheesefood. My earlier experience with vile cheesefood was at a Mexican restaurant in New York, where they tried to pass a bowl of it off as "cheese dip" for $8. Be warned.
