...about Ratatouille, which you probably won't find in any actual reviews.

  • Early on, there's a complete unrelated story and resolution that happens in the space of about five seconds. It's not even a setup-punchline, but it's still great.
  • There's also a great moment of 2D animation that makes me excited about what Pixar could do with the old-school group at Disney
  • Ego's typewriter is the greatest typewriter this side of Naked Lunch. His study is similarly awesome.
  • It's neat that Anthony Bourdain is listed as a consultant--it probably helped with the actual kitchen dynamic in ways that only someone who's cooked professionally could fully appreciate.

Otherwise, there's not much else to say that doesn't sound like a stuck record. It doesn't measure up to the level of awesomeosity that was The Incredibles, but few things do.

1) I don't know what you're talking about. Help me out here?

2) YES! That was probably my favorite part of the movie. I think they did the same thing with Monsters, Inc near the end.

3) I loved everything about Ego. O'Toole (?) did a great job, but I think Jeremy Irons would have blown this role away. The "flashback" at the end was hilarious.

4) I didn't even catch that.

Overall...-awesome-. Top 1 or 2 among Pixar movies for me.
