Probably the best tribute you'll have a chance to read.

Folks my age (myself included) knew Ike Turner more as the wife-beating caricature created on Saturday Night Live more than as a musician, but as a musician and as an example of rock and roll excess, the man was a prototype.

Yeah, the picture painted in What's Love Got To Do With It is less than stellar as well.

But he WAS a truly fine musician and songwriter. A perfectionist of the highest caliber (for better and worse, obviously).

Separating the art from the artist is always tough.
