Dec. 20th, 2007 12:48 pmLooking over the list of suggested words to add to Merriam-Webster (the one which officially created "w00t"), I arrived at one question:
Why the hell isn't quixotic already in there? For Cervantes' sake, it's in The Devil's Dictionary!
Meriam-Webster: 100 years too late, or just useless as a dictionary?

EDIT: Apparently "quixotic" and several other words on the list are already in said dictionary, and the list I consulted was nominees for "word of the year." Stupid word of the year should always be motherfucker.

Looking carefully, it appears that over half the words on the list would already be in most dictionaries. Maybe this list isn't of words to add to the dictionary after all.
