Well the weather outside is frightful

The first actual snow accumulation of the season decided to dump itself on Memphis this afternoon--they're forecasting around 4 inches of accumulation, which should shut the city down but good.

I'm sitting tight at work; last time the frigid bottom dropped out mid-afternoon, everyone decided to go home en masse and a twenty-minute drive home took two and a half hours. I'll probably stick around for another hour or so to see if the traffic dies down a little and I can go home unperturbed by the usual band of idiot drivers, who become only more idiotic at the first sign of frozen precipitation.

I stuck around until nearly five, by which time the interstate was sparsely populated and it took me less time than usual to get home. I may take some photos later when I head out to the gym--it looks like we got about five inches, which may not sound like a lot to you in upstate New York where you simply can't get enough snow to fill your gaping chasms, but ite enough to satisfy most folks around here.
