Divorce things (tiny filter)
Sep. 28th, 2008 10:38 pmJust a couple of notes here to save for posterity. Friday I went to see 'Otherhood, a new play by the theatre group around town that does new plays. It was well-done, although it didn't really speak to me personally. That notwithstanding, I spent a few minutes after the show catching up with the director of Little Women, who'd had a part. Her own marriage went south several years ago, and while I'm not privy to the details, I understand that it was a pretty unpleasant breakup. She informed me that it was her opinion that "someone should beat Amy's ass" over this whole mess. I told her life would beat Amy's ass soon enough, it wasn't worth getting worked up about.
The theatre community in this town is pretty close-knit. After a certain amount of time being onstage and hanging out with folks at rehearsals and in online areas, I feel that over half the regular actors in this city know me, and those folks love their gossip. I don't care terribly, but I'm curious as to what the rumors are vs. the actual situation.
In other news, I'm still detecting quite a bit of foot-dragging in re: Getting her crap and her daughter out of the house. It's selfish, I know, and I don't want the little cwab to feel unwanted, but asking me to be rent-free landlord and subsistence-provider at this point isn't exactly fair to me. Amy makes more money than I do, and has no real financial obligations to speak of (although that will change soon)--so it's not as if she couldn't drop a hundred bucks to hire some movers for a couple of hours, instead of whatever it is she's spending her money on instead.
Hopefully after this week I'll be able to change the locks.
