• No Sweeney review in the Memphis Flyer this week. Don't know if it'll go up on the website some time in the future, or if the reviewer just missed the show. Commercial Appeal review should be out tomorrow (I know that reviewer saw the show).


• Monday after we close (that's November 3) I'm thinking a trip to Oxford is in order for a few cartoons. Anyone up for a road trip? redtheblue? Anyone?


• I got a call yesterday asking me to audition this weekend for Uncle Adolph in The Last Night of Ballyhoo. It's a good role in a decent show, but I was actually hoping to take a little time off to get the house straight. Of course, it's only an audition, and there are a couple of other qualified actors who might fit the role better who should be in attendance, so we'll see what happens.


• We came in 4th at trivia last night. We were second before the final question, but there was no way we were getting the calorie count of a Whopper, 6 piece chicken nuggets, Personal Pan Pizza, and Frosty in the right order. Other missed questions include Gay Pride Month (June), Number of people who make it off the island in Lost (six), Loser of the 1984 Orange Bowl (Nebraska), any of which probably would have gotten us into the money.


• I turn 38 tomorrow. It'll mark my first genuinely solo birthday (without a wife, girlfriend, or family in town) in probably twelve years. Of course, feeling sorry for oneself isn't a productive endeavor, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of well-wishers, and ultimately it's just a day, so let's see if I can get a little more fuckin' sunshiney by then.

It was at just such a solo birthday that I finally released some attachment to it needing to be too special. Here's some mojo for working through it.
