One of the fun things that a couple of the folks in the Measure for Measure cast do at the final weekend cast party is a drink contest: Take a phrase from the show, name a drink after it, and have a contest to make the best drink with that name. This show's drink is a "Virgin Violator."

My recipe:
2 oz. pomegranate juice
1 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
1 1/2 oz vodka
orange twist

It exists, at the moment, only in my head. Amy suggested something with blue curacao, but my experiment with that (pineapple juice, curacao, vodka) wasn't so hot. I also briefly considered a beverage with dry ice.

I'll post the winning recipe tomorrow!

UPDATE: This WAS the winning entry. Um, by default, as no one else bothered to make a drink. But still, it was tasty, if a little too sweet. Less orange next time, more pomegranate.

[livejournal.com profile] jmspencer came up with some mixture during one of our cast parties that he immediately dubbed "The Mistake."

Didn't taste too bad, and I'm reasonably sure that's why he kept repeating that mistake.

MacGuire's Irish Pub in Pensacola Florida once had (and may still have) the beer with the greatest name ever: What The Gent On The Floor Is Having.

Hearing no objections, the chair moves to approve the declaration of the Greatest Name Ever, surpassing even Cole Porter and the I'm A Little Teapot Short'n Stout.
