Back from Flugtag--North American record shattered by a hang glider that launched from a giant banjo.
E., who came with me, shattered his foot a couple years back (you might remember the story of the guy who tried to murder the man two rooms down during E.'s hospital stay by shooting insulin into his IV) and he can't stand or walk for great lengths of time, so we left before the last three or so entries, but we still saw the recordbreaker and a whole lot of other ones.
Went to the Flying Saucer in Nashville afterwards; waited an hour to get three beers and an appetizer, so we decided to go elsewhere for actual food.
Tire was leaking. Bought a can of fix-a-flat to try to patch it up enough to get home, but had a blowout on I-40 about a half hour outside of Nashville. Jack screw is bent, and car rolled off the jack the first time I jacked it up because of being parked on a slight grade combined with draft from semis blowing by us at 80 mph. Tire ruptured on the inside sidewall--nearly a ten-inch gash. Full-size spare came in handy, but changing it was no fun.
Beat. Lots of pictures and video, which will probably go up tomorrow or so.
